Oakland Park will be ‘Dancing in the Streets’
With a Mile-Long Block Party on Friday, January 26th
Oakland Park will host it is second annual “Dancing in the Street” block party Friday, January 26. This mile-long live music fest along Oakland Park Main Street (NE 12th Avenue) will feature some of South Florida’s most popular & talented musical performers. They will entertain from 6 to 10 p.m. on seven stages set up throughout the City’s Downtown Culinary Arts District.
A lineup of Food Trucks will offer tasty eats and local Oakland Park businesses will host family-friendly activities. The tentative list of bands scheduled to perform at this free music extravaganza includes:
Pocket Change – 60’s/70’s Motown/Soul Salute
Joel DaSilva – Blues Rock Guitarist/Singer
Murph Aucamp – Jazz Percussionist
Synthesis – Jazz/Disco/Latin/Top 40/Romantic Ballads
Glyn Dryhurst – Dixieland/Jazz/Swing Band
Free event parking will be available at two City lots on the west side of N. Dixie Highway at NE 38th Street; on NE 12th Terrace; along NE 32nd Street east of NE 12th Avenue; and at the Jaco Pastorius Park/Urban Farm lot at 1101 NE 40th Court.
